Why Should You Deworm Your Dog?

Almost all dogs are born with roundworms and without proper treatment, worms can seriously affect the health of your dog. Internal parasites can affect your dog's immune system and how food is absorbed through his GI tract. To maximize the health of your dog, it is important to give regular dewormer treatments as part of your dog's health maintenance program through-out the year.

Recommended Deworming Schedule

Deworming schedules may vary depending on the climate where you live and the activity of your dog. The following schedules may be used as general guidance. Newly weaned pups (6 to 8 weeks of age) should be dewormed at 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks of age. Treat the dam at the same time as the puppies. Dogs over six months of age should be dewormed at least twice each year. Each deworming requires 3 daily treatments with Safe-Guard canine granules.
